Nueve is a vibrant 9-panel polyptych, masterfully capturing the mesmerizing motion of koi fish swimming beneath a lush canopy of lily pads. The composition flows like a living mosaic, with each panel contributing to a swirling, hypnotic underwater world rich in movement, color, and texture.
Painted entirely with her fingertips, Scott infuses the surface with energy and dimension, creating tactile ripples, glistening scales, and light-drenched leaves. The fish—graceful and fluid—navigate across the panels, drawing the eye in spirals that mimic the currents of water itself. The verdant greens of the lily pads contrast beautifully with the electric blues and teals of the pond, punctuated by flashes of orange and red from the koi.
